What is Invantra?

Invantra is an invoicing application for small businesses and service teams. It keeps customers, billable items, estimates, invoices and payments in one place, on a server you control rather than a third-party SaaS platform.

What's in the Meetrix Invantra AMI

The AMI ships Invantra ready to sign in, with the networking and certificate set up for you.

How to set up a self-hosted Invantra server

  1. Launch the stack

Subscribe on AWS Marketplace and launch the CloudFormation stack. Allow 5-10 minutes.

  2. Point your domain at it

Create a DNS A record with the PublicIp from the stack outputs.

  3. Sign in and change the password

Open the DashboardUrl, sign in with your AdminEmail and the instance ID, then choose your own password.

  4. Add your business details

Fill them in under Settings before approving estimates or invoices, then add customers and items.

Invantra FAQ

What is Invantra?

A self-hosted invoicing application for customers, items, estimates, invoices and payments received.

How do I sign in the first time?

Use the AdminEmail from the stack outputs. The first password is the EC2 instance ID, shown as InitialAdminPassword, and you change it at first sign-in.

Why can I not approve an estimate?

Invantra needs your business details first, since they appear on every document. Add them under Settings.

Can my team use it?

Yes. Add each person under Users with their own account instead of sharing the admin login.

How is SSL set up?

Automatically, when your domain is hosted on Route 53. Otherwise run the certificate script on the server, as the developer guide shows.

Which instance size should I choose?

t3a.small is the recommended starting point. Scale up for more users.

How do I upgrade?

Back up your server data, remove the old stack and launch the new version from AWS Marketplace.
