## How to set up a self-hosted DeepSeek Coder API

1.  ### Check your quota

    Make sure your account has vCPU quota for g5g instances in your region.

2.  ### Launch the stack

    Subscribe on AWS Marketplace and launch the CloudFormation stack with your domain and admin email.

3.  ### Point your domain at it

    After 5-10 minutes, create a DNS record with the PublicIp from the stack outputs.

4.  ### Call the API

    Open /docs on your server, then use the completions endpoint from your tools.

The model is not optimised for chat, so avoid /v1/chat/completions and use /v1/completions and /v1/embeddings instead.

Which instance should I use?

The AWS listing recommends g5g.16xlarge or g5g.metal.

How long is the context window?

16,000 tokens, which allows project-level completion and infilling.

How do I test the API?

Open /docs on your server, or use the Node.js test script from the developer guide.

What if SSL does not set up automatically?

SSH in and run sudo /root/certificate\_generate\_standalone.sh with your admin email.

How do I upgrade?

Back up your server data, remove the old stack and launch the new version from AWS Marketplace.
